25. Four rules for defeating the inferior
In the matter of defeating the inferior, the Dhammapada has
ယုတ္မာေသာသူတုိ႔ကုိ ေအာင္ရာေအာင္ေၾကာင္းကုိကား -ဤသုိ႔ ေဟာေတာ္မူ၏။
That is to say: You may defeat an angry man by not answering his anger with yours, but with forgiveness.
ေဒါသအမ်က္ထြက္ေနေသာသူကုိ အမ်က္တု႔ံျပန္၍မထြက္ သည္းခံျခင္းျဖင့္ ေအာင္ရာ ၏။(အသုရာနတ္မင္းကုိ သိၾကားမင္း ဆုိေသာစကားႏွင့္ ဤစကားညီညြတ္ သည္။)
You may defeat one who is of no standing by showing your own standing.
သူေတာ္မဟုတ္ ယုတ္မာသူကုိ သူေတာ္ေကာင္းအျဖစ္ျဖင့္ ေအာင္ရာ၏။
You may defeat one who is miserly and unwilling to give by your own generosity.
မေပးကမ္းလုိ ၀န္တုိစဥ္းလဲေသာသူကုိ ေပးကမ္းျခင္းျဖင့္ ေအာင္ရာ၏။
You may defeat the liar by your own truth.
မဟုတ္မလ်ား မုသားေျပာတတ္သူကုိ အမွန္အကန္ေျပာဆုိျခင္း သစၥာတရားျဖင့္ ေအာင္ရာ၏။
To defeat such people as these in these ways is a victory good in worlds, our present world and the next.
ဤဆုိခဲ့ၿပီးေသာသူတုိ႔ကုိ ဤဆုိခဲ့ၿပီးသည့္အတုိင္း ေအာင္ျမင္ျခင္းသည္ကား ပစၥဳပၸန္ တမလြန္ ႏွစ္ပါးေသာေလာက၌ပင္ ေကာင္းေသာေအာင္ျမင္ျခင္းျဖစ္၏။
It is a victory gratifying to the Lord and the virtuous.
ဘုရားအစရွိေသာ သူေတာ္ေကာင္းတုိ႔ ႀကိဳက္ႏွစ္သက္ေသာ ေအာင္ျမင္ျခင္းျဖစ္၏။
It is right to remember these four modes of gaining the victory all one's life.
ထုိ႔ေၾကာင့္ ဤေအာင္ျမင္ေၾကာင္းနည္းလမ္းေကာင္း ေလးမ်ိဳးကုိ အသက္ထက္ဆုံး မွတ္သားအပ္သတည္း။
